Tech company's Layoffs season continues for 2023. After the first round of 18,000 jobs cuts by tech giant company Amazon,

On Monday, the CEO of Amazon Andy Jassy announced, that the company is ready to layoffs around 9,000 roles.

These 9,000 layoffs would include roles from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Twitch, advertising, and HR departments.

The CEO later said that we know this decision is a tough one but it was necessary for the long-term success of the company.

It would be a total of 9% of Amazon's corporate workforce of 3,00,000 employees. With these laid-offs total layoffs for Amazon would be a total of 27,000.

Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy said in a note that the layoff decision is driven by the uncertainty about the economy.

2023 is going to be a tech layoff year for thousands of employees. Companies like Meta, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Twitter, etc are performing layoffs.

Meta in November 2022 had layoff its 11,000 employees. Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the second layoff on recent Thursday, that the company is ready for another 10,000 laid-offs.
